Paddy has been an integral part of The Techies since the inception of the award scheme in 2018, supporting the Techies as a sponsor through his work as Chief Executive Officer of the Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership (SWLEP) and as a highly respected judge.
Paddy announced his retirement from SWLEP in July 2023, but we are delighted that he is continuing to show his support for the Techies Awards as a valued member of the judging panel.
Paddy was recognised for his service to the local economy and to the community in Wiltshire in the 2023 New Year Honours List, receiving an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire).
A highly experienced local government director working with three local authorities, Paddy was Director of Education and Head of Economy, Skills and Property Development at Swindon Borough Council before taking up his role as CEO at SWLEP.
Paddy has a wide range of experience in the public and private sectors, working as a business analyst and system designer and running his own companies. He spent over 20 years in education as a teacher, headteacher and education inspector. He is also a member of a number of Boards for voluntary groups.
